Isn't it unbelievable to think that we have already completed half of the 2013/14 Russian Premier League? The eternally long winter break is now upon us after the completion of Game week 19 and we must now wait three months until Russian Football action returns with Zenit St. Petersburg. Here I shall take a look at who will go into the winter break in a positive mood and those that will face a bleak Russian midwinter.

MLS: Sporting Kansas City crowned MLS Cup Champions


Sporting Kansas City won the MLS Cup for the second time last night by beating Real Salt Lake 7-6 on penalties, after the game ended 1-1 after extra-time. A miss from second-half substitute Lovel Palmer meant that the home team collected the trophy.

Are The Turkish FA Really About To Ban Players Over Message To Mandela?


Last night Galatasaray's home victory over Elazigspor was marred by the fantastic contribute both Ivorian stars Didier Drogba and Emmanuel Eboué showed to former South African president Nelson Mandela who died aged 95 on Thursday night. The message that both players displayed to the iconic leader read "RIP Nelson Mandela" and "Thank You Mabiba" on the under vests of each individual. It has since being stated that the Turkish F.A are looking into taking disciplinary action against both African stars for their appreciation message to Mandela.

Arsenal Set To Make A Bid For Chelsea Starlet?

Since the return of Jose Mourinho to the Chelsea hot seat, two time Chelsea player of the year, Juan Mata, has remained an outcast of Mourinho's plans. The former Real Madrid manager has refused to start Mata in crucial games for the blues this season and reports have been breaking all season that the Spaniard is desperate to secure his spot in Spain's World Cup squad heading to Brazil in June.

The Chinese Super League in the past three years has grown from strength to strength with the world's eyes solely focused on the next sensation to appear from China. Like the rulers of the People's republic of China, the Chinese F.A want to make the Chinese game the biggest, most powerful and mighty of leagues that exist throughout the world. Having nationally enjoyed success first in 2002 when China qualified for it's first FIFA World Cup, this truly was the first time Chinese football caught the attention of the world.

MLS Cup Final 2013: Sporting Kansas City v Real Salt Lake

The battle for MLS Cup glory will take place on Saturday Dec 7th in Sporting Park, Kansas City(pictured). Kick-Off 4pm ET.
By virtue of a better points total over the regular season, Sporting enjoy massive home-field advantage, and will hope to make it pay.
Both teams have similar records in the league this season, the only real difference being Real Salt Lake having scored 10 goals more, whereas Sporting have a better defensive record by 11 goals. The teams met once already this season where Sporting ran out 2-1 winners at Real.

Shinji Kagawa - A Square Peg In a Round Hole.

Shinji Kagawa’s time at Manchester United has been stop-start to say the least, with a patchy and at times uninspiring first season under Alex Ferguson, the Japanese playmaker has been a major talking point in the early months of David Moyes’ reign in Manchester. The diminutive attacking midfielder has struggled to ever really stamp his authority on the side in a run of matches, despite flashes of the ability that earned him the move from Borussia Dortmund.
