Manchester United Star wanted as part of Guarin deal.
Posted by Gersloveofsport.

As reported yesterday, Manchester United want to sign Inter Milan winger Fredy Guarin. But, it's now reported that Inter officials have enquired about taking Mexican striker Javier Hernandez as part of the deal.

The 25 year-old Mexican who needs to be playing regular First-Team football with the World Cup coming up in the summer in Brazil. It's not going to do his chances any good if he's warming the bench at Old Trafford. But, with Robin Van Persie today ruled out for the big Christmas period, where he is likely to miss up to eight games, can United boss David Moyes really afford to let the Ex-Guadalajara player go? If he sees Guarin as a vital part of his vision for the future of Manchester United, then he has a lot of thinking to do.

Liverpool trying to sign Serie A star Jorginho
Posted by Gersloveofsport

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is stepping up the clubs interest in Hellas Verona attacking midfielder Jorginho.

With Steven Gerrard now ruled out for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury and Daniel Sturridge also missing with an ankle injury, Liverpool's squad is looking pretty thin at the moment. Hellas Verona have been one of the surprise packets of Serie A this season, newly-promoted and expected by most pundits to struggle, the form of Jorginho, along with Juan Iturbe, another Liverpool target, has been the most talked about. With seven goals from fifteen games, it's a very good return from the 21 year-old Brazilian. He is a vey strong, physical player with a eye for goal, similar to Gerrard in many ways. He has previously stated that he wants to play Premier League football, could Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool make his dream come true.

Juventus reclaim top spot.
Posted by Gersloveofsport.

Juventus have gone top of Serie A after the weekends action after beating Livorno 2-0 on Saturday, while Roma could only draw 0-0 with Cagliari on Monday night in Rome.

Juventus, with goals from Llorente and Tevez are beginning to ease into form as their new striker partnership find their feet. Llorente, who wasn't fit at the start of the season, has really found life in Italy to his liking now and himself and Tevez are linking up very well in the last few games. Hopefully for Juve more goals will flow, especially with important Champions League games to come. Roma had the chance to return to the top of the table on Monday but after having most of the possession just couldn't find a way past Cagliari goalkeeper Vlada Avramov, who had an inspired night with a string of high quality saves. Roma manager Rudi Garcia was sent to the stands in the second half, presumably for something he said to either the referee or his assistant.

Shock defeats for both Napoli and Fiorentina, to both Parma and Udinese respectively, Antonio Cassano the Parma goalscorer. Marek Hamsik started on the bench for Napoli, but when he came on after the hour mark he had to be replaced only 10 minutes later with an injury, and now looks likely to miss their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Inter had a poor performance away to Bologna, a 1-1 draw, with a goal from Jonathan.
Sassuolo continued their fine form with a 2-0 home victory against Atalanta, with goals from that man Domenico Berardi and Simone Zaza.

Sinisa Mihajlovic started his reign off with a 1-1 draw with Lazio, however that only tells half the story. Sampdoria had Nenad Krsticic sent off after picking up two yellow card by the 46th minute, but when Soriano scored to put the 10-men 1-0 up it looked like they might pull off an unlikely victory. However, in the 94th minute Lorik Cana popped up to break Samp hearts. More pressure will be heaped on Lazio boss Vladimer Petkovic after this performance.

Milan's game against Genoa turned nasty at the end of their 1-1 draw after the teams Ultra fans protested. Both Kaka and Cristian Abbiati had to speak to them and try to calm them down. The pressure keeps piling up on Allegri from all sides, it just remains to be seen what happens from here.

Milan are officially in crisis. Another poor result against Genoa, a 1-1 draw at home against 10 men. Genoa had to play with 10 men for almost an hour after Thomas Manfredini was sent off for a foul which led to a penalty, which was then missed by Mario Balotelli. Ballotelli, who had never missed a penalty prior to one against Napoli in September, has now missed two. He just doesn't seem himself this season while playing for Milan. Whether it's problems with coach Allegri, or whether he misses El Shaarawy or even if it's that the players around him aren't good enough, I don't know. But something is definatley up. His demeanor on the field is poor.

As for Max Allegri, his position has been under threat now for a few weeks. It was thought that the Milan hierarchy had had enough just before the International break and that a change was necessary, however it never came about. Rumours have been flying around that Ex-player Clarence Seedorf had agreed to become Milan boss at the end of the season. He is currently in Brazil playing for Botofogo in the Brasileirao. That competition finishes on December 8th and if the rumours are true, he could be the new manager by Christmas, unless he hasn't got all his coaching badges.
There were fan protests after today's game, with approximately 300 fans gathered outside the ground. Both Kaka and Cristian Abbiati met with them to try to appease them.
Crowds in the San Siro this season have been quite poor because of Milan's performances. I was lucky enough to have been there for Milan's 1-0 victory over Sampdoria, but there was only just 30,000 people there. Unless things improve crowds are going to dwindle even more.
Milan are in such a mess, 13th in the Serie A table and  closer to relegation than a Europa league spot,  that even a managerial change may not turn things around. However, you have to think that Allegri's days are numbered.

Italy: Hellas Verona v Chievo Verona
Posted by Gerloveofsport.

This weekend the Verona Derby,  or the 'Derby Della Scala' as it is known, will take place in the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, as Hellas Verona host Chievo Verona in Serie A. This will be just the 11th Derby between the sides, and it's very even, 4 wins apiece and 2 draws.

Hellas Verona, newly promoted this season are flying, 6th in the table, and started off the season with a 2-1 win against Serie A giants Milan. Their talisman is 36 year-old striker Luca Toni who has already scored 5 goals in 10 games, ably assisted by Argentinian wonder-kid Juan Iturbe. A whole host of clubs are keeping tabs on Iturbe, who is regarded as the new Messi. Brazilian midfielder, 21 year-old Jorginho is also attracting a lot of attention after scoring 5 goals early on. I think Verona's biggest problem will be trying to hold onto their two big youngsters.

Chievo meanwhile have struggled badly this season, even though they have been in all the games they have played, losing games only by the odd goal. Coach Giuseppe Sannino was sacked just before the International break and replaced by former coach Eugenio Corini, himself sacked by the club at the end of last season. He has a difficult task ahead as he tries to drag Chievo off the foot of the table. He has good players at his disposal like Sestu, Estigarribia, Thereau and Alberto Paloschi, even though Sergio Pellissier will be suspended due to being sent off against Milan. A new coach always brings with it new determination and enthusiasm, so it will be interesting to see.
All in all it promises to be a great occasion, hopefully it lives up to it.
